Road to Grayhawk: 2022 NCAA Golf Championships

With the field set on the women’s side and the men’s regionals wrapping up, the traffic is picking up on the #RoadtoGrayhawk. Among the milestones:  the championship, May 20 – June 1, will mark the first time in more than 100 years that a single school or course has hosted back-to-back DI NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.

2022 Championship Dates

  • Women:  May 20-25
  • Men:  May 27-June 1

Each six-day tournament runs Friday through Wednesday, beginning with four rounds of individual stroke play followed by two days of team match play. The women’s field will be made up of 24 teams and 12 individuals, while the men’s field will include the top 30 teams and six individuals.

Spectators Welcome

The championship is open to everyone, no ticket required. In addition to walking the golf course, fans may relax and enjoy primetime viewing on Quill Creek Patio across the pond overlooking the 18th green, with food and beverage on sale and other hospitality available each day.

Facility Availability During the Championships

  • Raptor Course will be cart paths only May 5-15, leading up to the championships.
  • Raptor Course & Clubhouse: Monday, May 16 – Thursday, June 2, Raptor, Quill Creek Café and Phil’s Grill will be booked to capacity hosting the championships.
  • Talon Course & Isabella’s Kitchen will remain OPEN during the championships.
  • Talon Golfers: Park south of Thompson Peak Parkway (Isabella’s Kitchen lot) and check in at the temporary golf shop next to The Roof.

Live coverage from Mondays’ stroke play final through match play:  Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23-25 for the women; May 30-June 1 for the men.

Raptor Course: NCAA Golf Championship Venue

The championship is contested on Grayhawk Golf Club’s Tom Fazio-designed Raptor Course. Since Raptor’s debut in 1995, it has hosted several professional and top amateur golf tournaments including the PGA TOUR’s Frys.com Open (2007-2009), Pro-Ams for the WM Phoenix Open (1996 to 2012), Tommy Bahama Challenge (2004 & 2005), AJGA Thunderbird International Junior (2000-2019) and PGA Jr. League Championship through 2022.
