Entering the final round with a seven-stroke lead, Rose Zhang held on to win the 2022 NCAA Women’s Golf Individual Championship. The Cardinal freshman shot a final round 75 (68-70-69-75) to cruise to victory at -6, three strokes ahead of second place finisher Natasha Andrea Oon (-3) of San Jose State. Jennie Park of Texas A&M and LSU’s Ingrid Lindblad tied for fourth place at -1.

Zhang’s three-shot margin of victory belies a few tense moments, giving Oon, who shot -2 on the day, a chance of catching her. The tide turned back into Zhang’s favor, with the birdie at difficult par-3 13th hole.
