Golf

Grayhawk Golf Club celebrates the game of golf by offering the public two wonderful courses – Talon and Raptor – both providing unique challenges as they wind through north Scottsdale’s spectacular Sonoran desert. Grayhawk is also home to a number of amenities and activities that naturally spin off of the lifestyle aspect of the game from the “hang” in Phil’s Grill to the shopping experience in the Golf Shop and Trading Company. It’s All About the Golf
Talon was the first to open its doors to the golf world in 1994 followed by Raptor in 1995. Since then, they have hosted several notable competitive events in addition to a wide variety of golf enthusiasts. Talon and Raptor consistently rank among Scottsdale’s top golf courses according to industry- leading publications. A few notable accolades include Golf Magazine’s Top 100 You Can Play in the U.S., Golfweek’s Best Golf Courses: State by State, and Golf Digest’s Top 10 in the State You Can Play.
Memorable Golf Events
The vision for Grayhawk Golf Club included the ability to accommodate large golf outings such as PGA Tour events, junior golf, charity tournaments and corporate events, among others. And over the years, this has become one of the club’s specialties.
The PGA Tour stopped at Grayhawk for three years to contest the Frys.com Open (2007-2009). Grayhawk also has hosted other PGA Tour-sanctioned events including the Williams World Challenge (now the Chevron World Challenge) and the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf (now the WGC-Accenture Match Play). Pro-Ams for the Waste Management Phoenix Open are played at Grayhawk, and the club also hosts one of the most prestigious junior golf tournaments in the world – Thunderbird International Junior.
Learn the Game, Enjoy the Game
Grayhawk is a great place to learn the game. The instruction team at the Grayhawk Learning Center is made up of teachers who have turned success as players in their own right into a passion for helping others reach their potential as golfers.
Scottsdale-Style Shopping at the Hawk
The Golf Shop and Trading Company is more akin to a high-end retail experience offering much more than golf balls and gloves. In fact, the merchandising operation at Grayhawk has been honored as one of “Golf World’s 100 Best Golf Shops” since opening its doors in 1996.
Fuel Up, Drink Up
No round would be complete without lifting a cold beverage in celebration. At Grayhawk, Phil’s Grill and Quill Creek Café offer rich and relaxing places to do just that. Named after Grayhawk’s Tour Ambassador Phil Mickelson, Phil’s Grill is a leather-clad eating and drinking establishment with multiple HD TVs tuned into the big game du jour.
Quill Creek Café is a more traditional lunch and dinner eatery offering a delectable menu of American favorites with a Southwestern flare. Both restaurants open to sprawling patios that take full advantage of the sensational Scottsdale weather, as well as the spectacular golf course and mountain views.
Morning Joint (a.k.a. Mojo), Grayhawk’s coffee shop, provides golfers with a place to fuel up on gourmet coffee and various breakfast and lunch items.
